CSR DEVELOPING MUTUAL BENEFICIAL

CSR FOR DEVELOPING MUTUAL BENEFICIAL.
It may be noted, however that, even with such need and prospects in sight, the evolution of CSR in organization not straightforward. Despite efforts of companies to contribute in community development, the concept of CSR is still unclearly understood by many. To date, only a minority of enterprises perceives and practicesCSR as a core part of their business activities, let alone having a comprehensive strategic approach for its implementation. Instead, CSR implementation have usually been spontaneous and adhoc.

This lack of CSR strategy in businesses is exacerbated by the insufficient engagement of Tanzanian public and civil society actors. Too often, the public and private sectors still look at each other with skepticism; the civil society feels excluded from relevant information sharing. As a consequence, multi-stakeholder engagement, effective coordination and dialogue on CSR remain the main challenges.
